Show Biz

I have had the good fortune to avoid doing an 8-5 desk job thanks to

many jobs in the entertainment business.  I traveled the country with a very popular San Francisco band which opened for the likes of Chuck Berry, Ike & Tina Turner, Tower of Power, Doobie Brothers, Elvin Bishop, Commander Cody and many others.  Huey Lewis and Player used to open for us.

After that I moved to LA to become a television situation comedy writer.  Before I reached that status I worked on The Merv Griffin Show, Wheel of Fortune, was the head writer on Jeopardy — the second Art Fleming version.  I was a writer on one of the earliest HBO original shows which led to becoming the writer for Rick Dees when his soon-to-be Number One show debuted on KIIS FM in 1981.

Right after this I finally got a sitcom job on Laverne & Shirley and Happy Days and reunited with my old Butch Whacks partner Gary Murphy and we worked on My Sister Sam and ended up running Night Court.

There were many other jobs during all this and I will go into this in this section (if for no other reason than to see what I can still remember).
